Kiamal Solar Farm & Synchronous Condenser

Kiamal Solar Farm Phase 1 is a 256MWp PV solar farm located in Ouyen, and is one of the largest solar farms in Victoria. Its 190MVar Kiamal Synchronous Condenser is the world’s first co-located solar farm with synchronous condenser and today hosts Australia’s largest single-unit synchronous condenser, which provides critical system strength services to the North-West Victorian transmission network.

Our Projects

Danish Fields Solar Farm (Texas, USA)
Victoria

Kiamal Battery Energy Storage System

The project is called the Kiamal Battery Energy Storage System (KBESS). The project involves a battery of 220MW 4hr battery, located south of the existing substation on Kiamal Solar Farm stage 1 (KSF1).

The KBESS will support the integration of KSF1, by storing additional solar supply and releasing it into the grid during peak demand periods.

Kiamal Solar Farm Stage 2

Kiamal Solar Farm Stage 2, located near Ouyen in Victoria, is an exciting expansion of Kiamal Solar Farm Stage 1, one of the state's largest solar project. This stage will add an additional 150 MW of capacity, enhancing the farm's ability to generate clean, renewable energy.

Kiamal Solar Farm Stage 2 supports Victoria's renewable energy targets and contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while creating jobs and driving local investment.

Middlebrook Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System

The proposed Middlebrook Solar Farm is a PV solar farm and energy storage project located near Middlebrook Rd, Loomberah in the New England region of northern NSW. The project area is approximately 22 km south of Tamworth and is currently under development. The project received planning consent in November 2024.

The solar farm portion of the project is comprised of multiple land parcels adjacent to Middlebrook Road with a potential capacity of up to 320 MWac. Middlebrook Energy Storage System will be a large AC-coupled battery with up to 320 MW / 780 MWh capacity.

Cottonwood Solar Farm (Texas, USA)
Queensland

Blackwater Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System

The proposed Blackwater Solar Farm is a PV solar farm and energy storage project located near Tolmies Rd in Blackwater. The project area is approximately 72 km east of Emerald and is currently under development. The project has received planning consent.

The 270 MW grid connected renewable energy facility will include large scale PV and 200 MW / 800 MWh battery energy storage system.

Queensland

Pleasant Hills Solar Farm

The proposed Pleasant Hills Solar Farm is a PV solar farm project with a capacity of up to 120MW located around 25km north of Roma, Queensland, on a land known as the Pleasant Hills Property.

The objective is to supply low-carbon electricity to the Roma field’s gas production and processing facilities which will contribute to lowering the emissions of Gladstone LNG.

TotalEnergies is leading the development of the Pleasant Hills project on behalf of the Gladstone LNG shareholders.

Vic Battery

A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is being developed in Victoria to enhance grid stability by storing excess energy during low demand and releasing it during peak times, reducing the risk of blackouts.

The system will support the integration of renewable energy sources, balancing supply and demand, and contribute to a cleaner environment. Additionally, it will help lower electricity costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, representing a significant step towards a sustainable energy future for Victoria.
